How did you choose Ohio University?

I chose Ohio University because it is one of the few colleges in Ohio that offers different concentrations within the English major.  I really wanted to have an English literature concentration as a part of my degree, and OHIO allowed me to pursue this goal while also having a beautiful campus and an outstanding community.

How did you choose your major, and what excites you most about it?

I chose my major because I have always loved to read and English was my favorite class in high school, and I wanted to continue studying what I love.

Have you ever used career or leadership training services on campus?

At the CLDC, I have participated in the Saturday Series, gone to mock interviews, and met with a career and leadership coach.

Tell us about one of your most significant career development experiences at OHIO.

The most significant career development experience I have had at OHIO was attending the Saturday Series.  There I was able to learn how to perfect my resume, how to develop an elevator pitch, and much, much more.  After the Saturday Series, I felt a lot more comfortable applying for internships and networking.

What is your favorite thing about being a Bobcat?

My favorite thing about being a Bobcat is the amazing opportunities that we are given.  The university provides so many opportunities to meet alumni, network, join fun student organizations, and so much more.

What advice would you give to your fellow Bobcats?

My advice would be to not be afraid to reach out to people or ask for help.  It can be nerve-wracking reaching out to alumni or faculty on campus asking for help.  However, some of the best opportunities arise after reaching out, so don’t be afraid to ask!

What will you be doing after graduation, and how did you get that job?

Once I graduate, I want to be an editor for a publishing house.  I want to help authors elevate their books to the best they can be so they can reach others.
