As fall semester starts to wrap up, students are busy finishing their classes and gearing up for winter break. This is also the perfect time to catch up on professional goals, and the CLDC is here to engage and help students complete these goals.

Here are three ways students can get involved before the semester ends:

Last Chance Saturday Series

Join us for our last Saturday Series of the semester, where you can complete all of the workshop requirements for the Professional Leadership Certificate and the 21st Century Leadership Certificate in one day. It will be held on Dec. 1 from 10 a.m.–5:20 p.m. in Baker University Center, room 366.

This event will help you get ahead on all of the workshop requirements for the certificates, and you can schedule a career coaching appointment and mock interview to complete the Professional Leadership Certificate and leadership coaching to complete the 21st Century Leadership Certificate to start off spring semester with a bang.

Drop-In Appointments

If you need some quick resume help or career advice, we offer drop-ins Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.–4:45 p.m. Career coaching drop-ins are frequently used for quick resume feedback or for general questions about career and leadership development.

If you need some advice over winter break, you don’t need to be on campus to take advantage of this service – students can receive coaching over the phone during our drop-in hours by calling 740-593-2909.

Handshake

If the last few weeks of the semester are too jam-packed and you need to push back your professional development into winter break, Handshake is the perfect low-maintenance way to stay involved outside of campus.

Handshake is the leading career platform used at over 500 colleges and by more than 250,000 employers. Used by all Fortune 500 companies, Handshake allows students to discover and favorite jobs at top financial institutions, cutting edge tech firms, leading design and marketing agencies, nonprofits making the world a better place, and more. Students can also receive personal recommendations based on their interests, skills, major, location preferences and search history.

Activate your Handshake account by visiting https://ohio.joinhandshake.com/ and logging in with your OHIO ID and password. Use the holiday breaks to search for your perfect internship or job from the comfort of your bed.
