What was the title and location of your summer internship?

Summer Audit Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co in Columbus, Ohio

How did you go about getting this internship?

I was lucky to have the opportunity to interview early for my internship with JPMorgan through the early advantage program they offered to sophomores where I was able to network with HR, current employees and participate in a case study with the other participants.

What was your greatest challenge in finding an internship?

The greatest challenge in finding an internship is staying on top of communicating with recruiters and reaching out to alumni, friends or family that work at the firm in which you are pursuing an internship.

What did you learn/gain from your summer internship experience?

I learned the importance of strong communication skills, time management and the confidence to speak in front of senior managers. I also learned that going the extra mile does not go unnoticed by managers and to treat the internship as a 10-week job interview.

What was your favorite summer internship memory?

Well, actually, I was lucky enough to spend the first month of summer in Greece participating in the Global Consulting Program. I got to work with international students and students from Ohio University to solve a business problem for the Hyatt Regency in downtown Thessaloniki, Greece. Apart from everything I was able to learn, traveling around Greece with my friends was the best part of my summer.

What do you hope to be doing professionally after graduation?

I hope to remain working at JPMorgan Chase & Co as a commercial banking analyst.

Without worrying about how realistic it may be, what is your dream job and why?

My dream job is to one day own a Private Wealth Management firm that specifically manages the money of professional athletes.

What advice would you give fellow Bobcats seeking internships?

Network as much as possible with alumni! I’ve learned that the bobcat network is incredibly strong and OU alumni are always willing to help as much as they can.
