What is your role and what are your responsibilities at the CLDC?

Associate Director for Employer Relations.

  • Oversee coordination of career fairs and employer relations activities

What is your favorite leadership role currently and why?

My favorite leadership role is that of EDUCATOR. Helping the next generation move forward in achieving their goals is the best way I can give back to society!

What is it like to work at the CLDC?

Working with students each day to “pay if forward” and make a difference in their lives is WONDERFUL! Each day in the CLDC is different…. You never know what to expect from day-to-day!

What has surprised you most about your career thus far?

The personal sacrifices I have been willing to make /made on behalf of other people and situations, but even making those sacrifices there is always a thread of making a positive difference in someone’s life.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve experienced in your career thus far?

Making sure I am doing 100% of what I love to do!

What was your first job ever?

My first job ever was babysitting my neighbor’s daughters.

What was your best career or leadership experience during college?

Starting a campus wide student organization at WVU that continued long after I had left college, having a Graduate Assistantship as an Academic Advisor for the B & E and Arts and Sciences Schools in the Student Advising Center, and tutoring students in Spanish.

How did you find your first job after undergrad?

After undergrad, I went on to graduate school.

What are you involved in outside of work?

  • Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
  • Member of several political organizations
  • Member of AAUW
  • Member of National Cancer Society

What is your favorite place in Athens?

I love walking on West Green!

What is the best place you’ve ever traveled? Why? 

Hotel Del Coronado, Island, San Diego – Beauty of the hotel sitting by the Pacific Ocean. Great views in and out of the hotel. Very vast! Awesome.

Share something about yourself that might surprise people

When lived in Georgia, I used to hike three or four times a month up Stone Mountain, GA.
